TO CATCH THE MOON

Our Neil Armstrong is born today. Our Buzz Aldrin is very near behind him. Etienne realized a small step on the top of Neggia for him, but a great step for the challenge B.I.G. And Eric will soon give him good company. Both of them in the same mission, in the quest of some part of their life. In the "name of their father", too soon disappeared and who gave them a very close company during the beginning of their quest.

You can send him your personal messages by surfing to his page (nr 33) and by contacting him in this way up on the right. Plenty of phone calls, mails and texts (like the one from José Bruffaerts, nr 3 in the challenge's subscriptions) are already arriving about this succes in this trial.

In 1981, analyzing his results, Etienne began with the top1 "col du Galibier" and he ended in 2011, that means 30 years later with the Passo di Neggia in Switzerland, but bery near Italy. He was a pionieer in the challenge, took part in his building and until today in his stability. He also took part in some official travels managed by the challenge itself like in Norway in the year 1988, or in some meetings like in Trento in 2008.
Etienne is wellknown by the old members because he was one of the first days of this crazy idea, but he is also wellknown by the new members because he is of course very modest, but very easy to meet and to talk with. All the new passionated people of the B.I.G, coming from so many different countries and working for the challenge know him now.
Etienne is obviously a simple cyclist in his head but it's now a legend in ours. What I always thougth to be unavailable, impossible and surely a challenge for life, becomes today an available, possible challenge able to be reached before being 50 years old.
These last years, pushed in front by Eric who went over him, he thougth toughly to his father to whom he promised to be the first one to reach the Graal of 1.000 . In this year 2011, he took the bull by the ears, the bike by the pedals, and he climbed more than 150 bigs to get it. Those last days , he met in Italy Mauro Repetti and Jules Dejace to conclude his success.
As an answer to the question of Mauro who asked him what else he would do now, he said : "now, I'm going to spend time with my wife with the target to give her all the time that I've stolen to her those last years". Because let's not forget that if Etienne was alone during the first part of his quest, since many years now, his quest was helped by his dear Laurence, who permitted him to fill his full superlist.
Thank you, Laurence to give him this right. Thank you, Etienne, to have reached my moon. I'm so grateful.
