02-11-2011En fond de scène de l'actuel carrefour qui se déroule sur les rives méditerranéennes, un des participants, l'allemand Heiko Linnert, a eu l'idée de vaincre 25 fois les rampes du légendaire Poggio de San remo. le 31 octobre, il est parvenu à réussir cette tentative, en terminant ses boucles en compagnie de ses amis allemands, membres du B.I.G et de retour de quelques bigs régionaux.

Here is his text explaining his victory !
"Today I was successful climbing 25 times the Poggio di San Remo.
Here a short report:
About one week ago, when I made some recherches for the Crossroad meeting in Nizza, which is still taking place now, I saw that the Poggio di San Remo still was not projected as an Ironbig. So I decide to try it. After the first two days of the meeting I started with it. At October 31 I climbed the Poggio di San Remo 25 times. It was perfect weather with about 20 degrees and a great view over the sea. I started in the morning at 8:30 and finished after 8:35 hours overall time. I climbed 14 times the east side from Bussana, the way the professionals take during Milano-San Remo, and 11 times the west side from San Remo, the downhill side of Milano-San Remo, overall 176 kilometers and 3484 altitude meters in 7:53 hours netto cycling time. The greatest problem was not the length or the altitude meters or the maximal slope (only 6%), it was not to think the whole time about the number of times I still needed to climb. We were a little group together with my son Finn, Julia Koch and Anja von Heydebreck (thanks to their support). When they came back from their ride with Cipressa and Poggio they climbed the last two times with me together, it was really nice to do that together.
