GROUPE RECORD POUR L\'IRONBIG
03-05-2011Quel beau challenge très réussi ce 1er mai 2011 sur les pentes du Vijlenerbos ! Quel succès pour ce groupe de 5 membres hollandais qui ont tenté la réussite du mythique nombre de 25 ascensions sur un jour pour ce numéro big 109 !
Ils sont recordmen car c'est le groupe le plus important en nombre à avoir réussi ce challenge à la même place le même jour !
Ils sont aussi recordmen car le plus jeune parrain y apparait sous le nom de Daan ter Horst, âgé juste de 18 ans. Les autres parrains sont Wim Van Els, Roland Schuyer, Stan Nijsten et Helmuth Dekkers.

Notre secrétaire, Helmuth, parrain pour la deuxième fois, nous a écrit ce texte : "
Me and Daan got up at 05:45 this morning and we arrived at the foot
of The Vijlenerbosweg in Camerig at 07:00 as agreed with Stan,
Roland and Wim. Stan was there at 07:00 also and Roland arrived
shortly after. When Wim arrived we could get going.
We started at 07:25 and cycled the Vijlenerbosweg from Camerig to
Vijlen and back in sets of 3 and hence we had cyled 6 ascents in a
set. Then we had a short break before we took on another set of
3 which we had done at ~10:40. We did another set of 2 before
we had a lunch break so we were at 14. After lunch we did a set
of 2 1/2 (to be able to end in Camerig again) and we were at 19
around 13:20. The last 8 were less easy of course but we were
at the top of Vijlenerbosweg at 15:25. So it took us 8 hours
including breaks to cycle 118.5km and ~3150 altimeters (based
on our website).
Misson accomplished. Arrival at the top:
Stan Nijsten (2nd Iron BIG for him too)
Daan ter Horst (Only 18 years old, youngest Godfather!)
Helmuth Dekkers (Iron Secretary)
Wim van Els
Roland Schuyer.
Fortunately Stan's knee held up well and Roland and me did not
have any problems related to the fall we both made recently.
