The TGV.
What is the meaning ? T = Tour; G= Giro; V= Vuelta : the 3 great professional tours.
Which climbs : all the XCat and 1stCat. since the year 1903 of those 3 tours.
Xcat = HC for Tour, Cima Coppi & Salita Arrivo for Giro and Especial for Vuelt)
Thank to Amaury Preillon who had the idea and used much time to compile all those climbs with a one year research. There is 488 tops for the start.
Amaury, but also Fabrice, Eric, Robert and Presi-Dan linked TGV to other challenges and are slowly including TGV in the website.
You can see the TGV numbers besides some tops of the website.
Our goal is clear : "with only one clic to claim, your score will be improved in all the challenges of this claim". Not necessary to claim them another time for this new challenge, but of course, for the climbs in TGV that aren't yet big or natacha. Those new ones exist .
Finally thank to Wouter, our webmaster, a better presentation of the titles appeared, less loud than now with all those numbers one after the other. It is softer and clearer.
What is the specificity of the challenge TGV ? No fixed number, the total is evoluting every year because, there are new XC and 1st category never climbed before every year. For example, the XC and 1C of the Giro will be added just after the coming Giro 2021. There will be no finisher, just Gruppetto for those who are in the challenge (more than 100 tgv), Peloton (for those who have more than half the total), Purchasers (for those who are with a score less than PAR100 (imitaion Golf)), Leaders with less than PAR50, and finally King of Mountain if they reach the Graal.
What is the meaning of the TGV-number ? Let's take an example TGV-G1944-2 ! G means Giro, 1944 is the year of the first time that this top appeared, and the last 2 means that it is the 2nd new HC or 1C inside this tour.
A never ending challenge that doesn't exist anywhere else. Bigcycling is working for your passion and your motivation.
