Beautiful climb, but take bikelights with you because there are some very dark tunnels. The last two km’s were officially closed by a barrier due to falling rocks, but easy to go under it and continue to the top. Safe. Only a few stones on the road. Not sure whether this closure is temporary (June 24) or permanent but I think already since this winter because close to the top there was still snow on the road without car tracks.

Does anyone knows what it says on the sign at this pass? I have seen in one photo (only) on the Internet that there is a sign, but could not read it. It is still unclear what the Slovenian name is for this pass. Only the Austrian Kompass map suggest it is called Mangartsko Sedlo and also tourist information at the site, but not the Italian or Slovenian official maps.
