BIGCYCLING SUGGESTIONS IF THE BORDERS STAY CLOSED THIS SUMMER 2020
21-04-2020We must keep us safe and follow all the rules of containments in every country, but BIGCYCLING must also think how to keep a good activity and a good motivation for his/her members if the borders stay closed during this coming summer.
If the borders or some important alpine borders are opened, we'll do nothing different. But if the borders stay closed, we must manage something inside each country of our association with a lot of members. 9 countries already have a NATaCHA, a national challenge and for them, it's ok : they will normally be able to cycle inside their countries to reach those tops.
Italy and France have a national challenge that will come soon : both are on the way and far on the way. Normally Natacha Italy will be launched in 2021 and France in 2022.
The 3 Natachas of the Benelux are also far on the way but we must still find some unexpected climbs to motivate members.
If the borders stay closed, we preview to manage ZAKUSKIS of those Natachas. That means that we'll edit at the end of the month of May, a short list of a few names that will have 95% of chance to be included in the coming national challenge. We'll give you the openrunner number of all the sides but nothing more and nothing will be inside the website. That means that members can go there , climb the expected natacha, note his/her claim on a paper with the date to remind it and if the top will really be in the official list when launching the challenge in the website, he will be able to claim it immediately. What doest it mean "few names" ? Between 15 and 30% of the final list. Those names will be natachas outside the bigs of course. We'll decide it at the end of May.
Another idea for France, Italy and Spain, promoted by Amaury Preillon, invites members to climb the HC and 1st cat. of Tour de France, Giro and Vuelta of the 50 last years. Those climbs have to be listed and this will be a new challenge. But we have to vote inside the large committee first to agree it and we have to create the list. and include it. That needs a lot of time and some work for webmasters and database managers. We'll see and inform you about this opportunity.
BIGCYCLING don't forget you during the coming summer and will give you the opportunity to keep some motivation.
